Mage mirror match in Arena is very annoying. Its essentially the battle of who has the most large minion wins. In this match, he just played an Ogre. My goal here is to make sure I have more large guys standing than he does.
Some notes: I have played 2 polymorph so removal is pretty scare. He hasn't played any fireball or polymorph yet.
Here are my following options:
Play lord of the arena and ping the engineer. Following up next turn with stormwind champion + frost bolt/fireblast or sea giant+ frost bolt/fireblast
Play
the stormwind champion, attack my water elemental to the ogre to freeze
it. Setting up a potential blizzard frost bolt combo
What would you guys do?

If you play Lord of the Arena and he has a Fireball/Polymorph to take it out, don't you just get wrecked by the Ogre? If you play the Champion and it gets Fireball/Polymorphed, at least you can still take out the Ogre the next turn.
ReplyDeletetl;dr don't let Ogre attack
Thats a good suggestion. I forgot about the senario of what if they did have fireball or polymorph. So if you play lord of the Lord of the Arena or the Stormwind champion there is an equal chance that they will use fireball and polymorph. In both cases, we'd be in a really bad spot.
DeleteIf I play the stormwind champion and attack the water elemental to his ogre, he will fireblast my water elemtal afterwards for free. I will save me some 6hp at the cost of my water elemtal which I don't believe is a good trade as board control would be lost. So if he had polymorph and fireblast, I would play the crappier minion, the lord of arena and just ping of the engineer and attack with the water elemtal. If i played the stormwind champion, i might be more inclined to also attack his face. Next turn we'd have the option to chain cc the ogre if it becomes a big threat.
If we assumed that he dind't have any fireball or polymorph, the better play would be lord of the arena for sure as it forces his ogre to kill a less powerful minion instead of killing the stormwind champion.
